Project Description:
The Living Murray Program was established in 2002 in response to evidence showing the declining health of the River Murray system. It is a partnership of the Australian, NSW, Victorian, South Australian and ACT governments, aiming to achieve a healthy working River Murray system for the benefit of all Australians. This includes returning up to 1,500 GL of water to enhance the River’s environment.
Hydro Environmental was engaged to conduct a series of workshops aimed at:
- providing key stakeholders with better knowledge of what the Living Murray Initiative is about
- providing a forum for open discussion of the issues
- reaching agreement on principles necessary to achieve the outcomes in a fair and equitable manner.
- reaching agreement on the best approach for an FMIT response and an NCCMA response to the Living Murray document
- developing a response to submit to MDBC in relation to the MDBC’s Living Murray Discussion Paper.
Hydro Environmental organised, facilitated and documented the workshops and assisted in the preparation of responses to the MDBC.
