Project Description:
As part of the process of unbundling water entitlements, the existing State Water Register needed to be reconciled to ensure that data was available at the beginning of 2007/08 to set bulk entitlements.
Hydro Environmental was engaged by the Department of Sustainability and Environment to reconcile the State Water Register for 2006/07. This project involved:
- Obtaining bulk entitlement and trade data from three rural water authorities (Goulburn Murray Water, Lower Murray Water and First Mildura Irrigation Trust);
- Developing a State Water Register for 2006/07 (MS Excel), using the 2005/06 State Water Register as a basis;
- Ensuring that the 2006/07 State Water Register reconciles
- Preparing a brief report outlining the process undertaken, issues identified and detailing the key components of the water register.
